Ludmila Pernot created APA architecture agency in 1998. In the beginning, she works for other practices, mainly for Jacotey-Voyatzis (collaboration from 1998 to 2010 on embassy projects) and RDAI agency (collaboration since 2000 for the development of Hermès stores concept).

In 2003 the agency starts working on its own projects in several fields for the private sector (individuals and firms), with a predilection for renovation (giving new life to old buildings), wood construction and interior design (layout and furniture design).
